Turkey & Syria Earthquake Fundraiser

On Friday 3rd March, Flossy and Miley from Year 3 held a fundraiser to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. They came up with the idea together and asked Mr. Paton whether he could help in promoting and organising the event.

Both girls were extremely busy on the Thursday evening, baking buns at home, making flags and ribbons in the colours of both national flags and learning how to use a badge making machine!

At playtime we set up tables in the backyard and sold the items for a donation. Mr. Paton ran the cake stall and Flossy and Miley worked hard taking badge orders. It was a GREAT success!

There were some item left over which we sold at the end of the school day. The girls managed to raise a whopping £156.00! What a fantastic achievement. Both girls are now going to research charities and once they have chosen a charity they feel will benefit the most from the money raised the school will send a cheque to their charity of choice.

A fabulous act of global citizenship!
