Transcript of our welcome video.

Hi I’m Robert Paton, head teacher of this hidden gem of a primary school.

We are set back from the main road, in a beautiful setting just a few minutes walk from the centre of Hebden Bridge; so some of you may not even know we’re here. We are a small school that strives to make a big difference, not only for our children today but throughout their lives.

Our size and location means we have a particularly strong sense of community both within and around our school. The older children get to know and help the younger ones as buddies. Children spend time with the residents of the retirement home that overlooks our school field, and we work with local arts organisations to creatively explore and love the nature that surrounds our school.

Hebden Royd is a caring and family friendly school. Not only are our fantastic team of teachers, support staff and governors passionate and dedicated people, but our families and children are also wonderfully supportive of each other. Our shared values connect our whole school community. Everything we do, every decision we make, has our children at its heart.

Learning here is vibrant, inclusive and fun, and our children love coming to school. Our carefully designed curriculum is both broad and deep, and we take every chance to celebrate and nurture the unique qualities and skills of each child.

We want to ensure that they not only make great academic progress, but also develop a love of learning, and an open, inquisitive mind. We aim to instil in our children the tenets of being good people who want to go out there, ask questions and make a difference. They go on to high school with the educational and emotional foundation they need to succeed, and with the qualities and skills they need to soar.

If you are looking for the right school for you and your child, we’d love you to come and meet us, take a tour, talk to our children and find out what makes our school so special. We can promise you a warm welcome from everyone at Hebden Royd.
