Welcome to the Year 6 class page. This is a year in which the children hone all of their skills, both academic and personal and hopefully grow in maturity as they get ready for high school. We expect independence, assertiveness and the ability to take responsibility.
This half term we are working on:
Topic - Japan – the children have completed their topic projects and shared these with parents and peers. Year 6 also spent an afternoon making NORIMAKI.
English - Non-fiction writing, creating a travel leaflet, looking specifically at the grammatical elements this type of writing requires: hyperbole, alliteration, statistics, rhetorical questions and superlatives.
Maths - we have finally finished the Y6 curriculum objectives – our last block was Properties of Shape: angles, regular polygons and 3-D nets.
P.E. is on Tuesdays
