Governors

  

The Governing Body plays a vital and active part in the running of the school, supporting the Headteacher, challenging and monitoring assessment and achievement and making decisions about all aspects of school life. Governors meet twice a term and endeavour to visit to the school on a regular basis. Each Governor has an area of special responsibility and is linked to a class within the school.

The Constitution of Hebden Royd Governing Body is as follows:-

2 Parent Governors (elected by parents of children attending the school)
1 Local Authority Governor (appointed by the Local Authority)
2 Staff Governors (can be teaching or support staff and are elected by School Staff. The Headteacher is usually one of the staff governors, but this is not obligatory.)
7 Foundation Governors (2 of whom are parents of children attending the school and are appointed by St James / St Thomas Parochial Church Council)

Each Governor is appointed to serve for a term of 4 years.

Should you wish to contact any of the Governors please do so via the Clerk to the Governing Body:- Mrs Janette Batty, who can be contacted via the School. She will also be able to supply information should you be interested in becoming a School Governor.

All Governors (and staff) are required to complete a Pecuniary Interest Form annually.

During the academic year 2017 / 2018 Governor attendance at meetings averaged 65%

 

There are a number of governor terms finishing this year and Reverend Pask has retired.

The new governing body will be made up in September and consist of 2 new parent governors and two new PCC (church) governors.
